Danielle Whelan, Marketing and Business Development Coordinator completed a Diploma in Education and Irish from Aberystwyth University in 2004. She subsequently completed a BBS in Business (Management) from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2010 followed by a MBS in Business (Management) from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2011. Danielle also has multiple certificates across industry sectors including ECDL, Training, Design, AutoCAD, Security and Education. Danielle has worked in Management, Marketing and Business Development since 2005 and gained strong commercial and industry knowledge across all sectors both nationally and internationally. Danielle joined RIKON in 2008 as a commercial researcher and expanded her knowledge base to include the funding regulations and application writing associated with SME’s in Ireland. In her current role as Marketing and Business Development Coordinator, Danielle is responsible for the Strategic Development of RIKON’s partnership with businesses in Ireland and abroad and other identified stakeholders (Chambers, Business Groups, Enterprise Ireland, IDA, LEO, LEADER and other agencies).  As part of her position in RIKON, Danielle has become a skilled networker and promotes RIKON through extensive community engagement, keynote speaking, publications, conventions and roadshows and is also responsible for the promotion of RIKON through strategic marketing offerings, detailed market analysis and in-depth research increasing our National and International Profile. Danielle’s knowledge base qualifies her to recognise suitable funding streams for RIKON and our partners which in turn enables RIKON and our clients to develop innovative business solutions for their companies based on best practice research and consultancy.

Research Group : Research in Innovation, Knowledge Transfer and Organisational Networks

Danielle’s research interest is in digital marketing and SME’s in Ireland. Exploring how the use of channel dynamics and customer interaction impacts on the revenues of customers.

Danielle acts as company trainer for RIKON in the following areas

  • Digital Marketing
  • Developing training programs for RIKON and businesses throughout Ireland

Danielle graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology with an MBS in Business (Mgt) in 2011.
