Chapz Male Barbers Ltd was established in 2011. It provides barbering services through 2 full retail outlets in Waterford and Arklow and through 5 kiosk outlets in Ballybeg Waterford, Dundalk, Gorey, Mullingar and Wexford. Their unique approach initially to a heavily saturated marketplace was to position their stores at truly convenient retail spaces where there was already footfall and ample free parking which allowed them to grow quickly.
Chapz Males Barbers Ltd needed to examine their Business Model to ensure that they could sustain their market share and grow their business. They needed a strategic approach to their business expansion and to design and develop an innovative business model to provide them with clear direction. The mapping out of the industry’s external environment and trends was of particular importance in order to have a better understanding of the competitor landscape and to assist with identifying viable expansion strategies.
RIKON completed a systematic review of the literature; examined the external environment; identified the industry trends and undertook a detailed analysis of the competitive landscape and best practices within the sector.
Throughout the duration of the project, the team at RIKON conducted in-depth research of the possible opportunities and challenges within the sector. RIKON assisted Chapz Male Barbers Ltd in developing their value proposition by providing them with insights on their retail presence, customer segments, customer experience, customer loyalty program and booking system.

Following RIKON’s research Chapzs Male Barbers Ltd were provided with a roadmap of how to develop their new business model into a viable expansion strategy with a clear roadmap for implementation.
