Darrin is a Lecturer in Management at the WIT Business School; Co-Founder and Co-Director of the WIT Lean Enterprise Excellence Group; a member of the RIKON Research Centre; and Co-Director of the following Lean Enterprise and Operational Excellence programme portfolio:

Darrin is a member of the steering committee of the newly-formed Lean Ireland national initiative, including representatives of EI, IDA, IBEC, UL, captains of industry, and consultants.

Darrin is also a member of Lean Construction Ireland’s Core Group steering committee, and Chair of the Lean Construction Ireland Construction Academic Forum.

Darrin joined the WIT Business School in 2004 after a decade in industry, and has lectured a variety of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the areas of Management, Strategy, Leadership, Business Communications, Operations, and Lean Philosophy & Practice.

Darrin presently delivers modules on the Master of Business in Lean Practice; the Executive MBA; and the Higher Diploma in Business in Operational Excellence. Darrin also provides Research Supervision at Masters level.

Darrin has extensive experience in management and consultancy roles having spent a decade working in industry before embarking on an academic career in 2004. Darrin worked in manufacturing for two of those years, and spent the remainder working in the services sector. In his role as Operations Manager for an Online Tourist Information & Booking Services enterprise, Darrin was responsible for managing all internal and external operations, the management of key supply networks, and the management of client relationships.

Darrin also managed the company’s legal and financial affairs, including due diligence on several rounds of investment encompassing venture capital funds, Enterprise Ireland equity funds, and private equity investors. Subsequently, Darrin set-up and managed his own consultancy firm that operated as a strategic partner to Carr Communications for the latter’s online operations and communications, as well as those of its corporate and State clients, and managed the accompanying supply networks and key client relations.
